Mayor Mboyi cracks down on traffic offenders
Makhado Mayor, Her Worship Cllr Dorcus Mboyi, has issued a firm warning to motorists dodging traffic fines: "Pay up or face the consequences." She made the remarks earlier today (24 April 2025) during a traffic roadblock operation in Makhado along the busy N1 Road..
With the recent rollout of an automatic number plate recognition system, the municipality has taken a major step in tightening the net around traffic offenders. The new technology leaves no room for evasion. Vehicles with outstanding fines will be swiftly identified and flagged.
Mayor Mboyi is calling on all violators to settle their fines without delay, warning that the system will track them down. “Those who choose to ignore their traffic fines must be prepared to face serious repercussions,” she said. She stressed that obeying traffic laws isn't just a legal duty but a shared responsibility that enhances road safety and community well-being. “By paying their fines, individuals are playing their part in creating safer roads for all,” she added.
Mayor Mboyi's message to repeat offenders is very clear: “There is no place to hide.”
