Mayor Mboyi pledges commitment to quality services at mayoral imbizo

The event was a valuable platform for Tshakhuma residents and neighbouring communities to engage directly with the mayor. Residents were encouraged to voice their concerns, knowing that their opinions would be heard and taken seriously. This direct dialogue reflects the municipality's ongoing commitment to fostering open communication and building public trust.

Key issues raised during the Imbizo include unemployment, roads gravelling, water shortage, and electricity load reduction. Residents also expressed their gratitude for the services already in place, such as the improved road infrastructure and access to municipal facilities. The gathering exemplified how the municipality listens to residents, with Mayor Mboyi underscoring that community participation is at the heart of service delivery in Makhado. She assured attendees: “we are not here to listen to your problems and not take action. I am committed to ensuring that all issues raised are addressed in a timely and effective manner. We value your input because your concerns guide us in improving services. Together, we can work towards lasting solutions.”

The Imbizo not only provided a platform for dialogue but also offered practical support to the community. In collaboration with various government departments, such as Home Affairs, more than 200 smart ID cards were processed for local residents, demonstrating the municipality’s commitment to delivering services that improve the daily lives of citizens.

Traditional leader khosi pfareli vho Madzivhandila, who was present at the event, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to speak openly with municipal leaders. “We are happy that our problems will be attended to. Mayor Mboyi is our last hope, and we trust in her leadership to bring about the changes we need,” he said.

This Imbizo highlighted the Makhado Municipality’s dedication to working hand-in-hand with residents to ensure that service delivery meets the needs of the community. Mayor Mboyi reiterated that the municipality does not make decisions in isolation but actively involves residents in shaping the future of Makhado. She emphasised that the feedback gathered from this engagement would directly inform the municipality’s strategies going forward.

The commitment of Makhado Municipality to maintain transparent communication and involve the community at every step reinforces its mission to be responsive and accountable. Through continued collaboration with residents, the municipality is determined to improve service delivery and address challenges that impact daily life.
